The Right Fuel

Making sure you look after your new stove is just as important as choosing the right one.
To get the very best out of your new stove, making sure you use the right fuel is key.

Always use wood which has been properly seasoned or kiln dried wood with a moisture content of less than 20%. Burning wood with a higher moisture content will not only produce harmful particulates but will also produce creosote which can cause a chimney fire.
It is also a false economy as wet wood will simply not produce the same level of heat.
If burning "coals" make sure you are burning the "Smokless" kind.
There are a number of brands available our personal favourite is Homefire.
Heat logs are also another option. Manufactured from waste wood they have a low moisture content.
